Representatives from the Seneca Nation met with Governor Paterson in Amherst yesterday. The meeting lasted 30 minutes and sounded very productive, as the two sides spent the entire time talking about future meetings. In a statement made by the Nation's Foreign Relations Committee:"We had a positive discussion with the governor and we agreed to meet again. We've set up a process to arrange those future meetings. The governor's willingness to meet with us is a continuing recognition of our treaty and sovereign rights."
